Police: Telephone Fundraising is Legitimate
Westborough Police Chief Alan Gordon said the calls will continue for about a month.

The Patrolman’s Union Local 439 is calling residents and businesses for its annual fundraising campaign.
“We’ve had some questions about the calls,” said Westborough Police Chief Alan Gordon. “These calls are legitimate.”

Gordon said the telephone fundraising campaign will likely continue for about a month, “or until the list of residents and businesses is completed.”
He said that money raised by the union will fund scholarships, turkeys for the Westborough Food Pantry at Thanksgiving and Christmas, youth athletic teams and a number of different charities.
