Rec. Dept. Offers Training Courses for Young Athletes

In March and April, the Westborough Recreation Department will be offering athletic development clinics for kids through a system called Athletic Revolution. The traning program is designed for athletes ages 6 to 18 and is conducted by Westborough Physical Education teacher Matt Travis.
“I am thrilled to be able to bring Athletic Revolution to the Westborough community,” Travis said.
Travis, who also runs the Recreation Department’s second grade basketball camp and coaches freshmen high school football, owns and operates Athletic Revolution MetroWest. The company implements a training system based on increased speed, strength, flexibility and power.

“Athletic Revolution is unique and exciting,” Travis said. “Any young athlete or youth fitness participant looking to improve in a sport, lose weight or gain a healthier lifestyle will benefit.”
The clinic, held at the Forbes Municipal Building on West Main Street, will be divided into three sessions.

- The first session will be for athletes in grades 1 to 3. It will run from 4 to 5 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday. Classes take place March 2 through April 25.
- The second session will be for athletes in grades 4 to 8. It will run from 4 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday. Classes take place March 1 through April 21.
- The third session will be for high school athletes and run from 5 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday. Classes take place March 1 through April 21.
