Remembering a Westborough Native

Leo R. Wood, 61, passed away on Dec. 27. Husband of Barbara J. (Turnbull) Wood. Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late Leo C. and Mary (Strzelewicz) Wood. He was educated in Westborough schools and attended Boys Trade School in Worcester. Mr. Wood was employed as an auto body repairman for Maple Street Auto Body in Marlborough prior to his retirement. He was also an avid Auto Racing Fan. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Jamie L. Wood of Alton Bay, NH, Leo R. Wood, II of Lancaster and Andrew N. Wood of Worcester; four brothers, James Wood of Northborough, Edward Wood of Westborough, Michael Wood of Sutton and Christopher Wood of Westborough; five sisters, Mary Root of Alexandria, NH, Elaine Baker of Westborough, Ruth Cimorelli of Ashland, Edith Stickles of Franklin and Patricia Wood of Barre; three grandchildren, Bryan Wood, Ashley Wood and Hailee Benedict-Wood, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Dec. 31, 2011 at 10:00 A.M.  in the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough.
