Save More Lives Like Caitlin's; Giving Tuesday Coming Up

15-40 Connection is launching its Giving Tuesday program.

Can the way we talk about cancer save lives? For many of the 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women who will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, early detection can save their life, like it did with Caitlin.

Using the lessons she learned from 15-40 Connection, based in Westborough, Caitlin noticed a lump in her breast that she knew had not been there before. Rather than wait to see if the lump would continue to grow, she advocated to be seen by her doctor early. Her actions led to an early diagnosis of her very aggressive cancer. Caitlin’s oncologist told her that had she ignored the change in her health and taken a wait and see approach, her cancer would have progressed quickly and very likely would have altered the effectiveness of treatment and decreased her chance of survival.

This Giving Tuesday, in its #Giving2Empower campaign, 15-40 Connection is asking for support to continue empowering others with the lifesaving advantage of early cancer detection. Caitlin’s story illustrates how the educational programming that 15-40 Connection brings to schools, colleges, workplaces and through social media can save lives. Caitlin shares, “What I learned from 15-40 Connection saved my life, and in telling my story, I hope it saves someone else’s.”
