Why do you want the position?
It would be a privilege to be able to contribute fresh ideas to the continued success of our town, both for the benefit of this generation and for future generations, as well as to ensure that the town continues serving the needs of its residents in the most efficient, economical and beneficial way.
What do you feel are the biggest issues facing the Board of Selectmen?
Attracting and retaining commercial, retail and industrial businesses in order to increase our town’s tax base; ensuring Westborough has the appropriate capital facilities for present and future needs; working to protect the town’s natural, historic, and human resources; continuing to explore cost effective solutions to department budgets; working with the relevant groups to ensure land-use issues benefit our town and its smart growth policy; and, supporting increased inter-agency communication between the Board of Selectmen and our town’s other boards and committees, as well as with the residents.
How do you plan to affect change?
I will steadfastly advocate for what will serve our town’s best interests. I believe maintaining productive and cooperative relationships, as well as open communication, with our town’s managers and residents, constitutes the foundation for meeting our shared goals and facilitating any new directions. These are qualities I embody in my professional life that will easily translate to the Board of Selectmen.
