Sherwin “Deke” Bardsley, 88, died May 4. Deke was born in 1923 in Fitchburg and grew up in Leominster. From 1942 to 1945, he served with the US Army Infantry in World War II, both in the Battle of the Saar and the Battle of the Bulge, earning four battle stars and a Purple Heart. He had a 40-year career with Paul Revere Life Insurance Co. He is survived by his wife, Polly Bardsley, to whom he was married for 64 years; son Jeff Bardsley and his wife, Leslie, of Shrewsbury; son Rand Bardsley and his wife, Susan, of Grafton; son John Bardsley and his wife, Mary, of Newport, NH; grandchildren Ryan, Amy, Megan, Erin, Jaime and Scott, and great grandchildren Sophie, Thaddeus, Jacob and Asa. His youngest son, David Bardsley, died in 2009. A memorial service will be held at the Parkman Chapel of the on Wednesday, May 9, at 11 a.m. Donations in his memory can be made to The Salvation Army.

Doris M. Kelly, 88, of Londonderry, NH, formerly of Milk Street, died on May 5. Her husband of 55 years, Thomas F. Kelly, Jr., died in 2003. She leaves two daughters, Sharon Furbish, wife of Gerald of Boylston; and Patricia Bergstrom, wife of Stephen of Marlborough; a son, Daniel Kelly of Boston; six grandchildren; two great grandsons; and many nieces and nephews. Doris was born in Worcester and lived in Westborough for 37 years, where she was a member of parish, before moving to Londonderry in 2002. Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A separate visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 9 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at4 Church St., with a mass at 10 a.m. at St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St. Burial will be in . Donations may be made to the VNA Home Health Hospice Services, 1850 Elm St., Manchester, NH 03104-2911.

Margaret J "Maggie" Macdougall, 74, died May 3 after several years of struggle with Parkinsons and cancer. She leaves her husband, Dr. John D. Macdougall; her three daughters: Elizabeth Phelps and her husband Brian of Westborough, Susan Keating and her husband Patrick of Surry, ME and Margaret "Peggy" Macdougall of Westborough; and three grandchildren. Maggie grew up in Petitcodiac, New Brunswick, Canada. She worked as a registered nurse in Hamilton, Ontario, North Adams and Whitensville, Massachusetts and retired after working 20 years at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 8, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the , 62 West Main St., followed by services at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in the Riverbank Cemetery, Norton, New Brunswick, Canada. Donations can be made to Bosler Humane Society, P.O. Box 12, Baldwinville, MA 01436.
