'Shake-Scene II,' The One-Man Shakespeare Show, Comes to Westborough
The Westborough Library is welcoming this show to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death.
WESTBOROUGH, MA — “Shake-Scene II” is a one-man Shakespeare performance by actor Stephen Collins, and you can experience it on Wednesday, April 20, 7 p.m. at the Westborough Public Library to mark the Bard's 400th anniversary of his death death.
Shakespeare created more 1700 common words that before him were either used in a new manner or didn't exist before him, and he did it by converting nouns into verbs or connecting words that had never been used together. He invented a "language."
Collins makes Shakespeare's words come alive, from King Lear, Edmund, Lago, Prospero, Bolton, and others. Shakespeare's tragedies, comedies, histories, and Sonnets are all represented in the show.
