Southborough Man Charged With Multiple Breaks in Westborough, Including St. Luke's and Forbes Building
Thanks to an alert inspector, police caught a man who allegedly stole copper from multiple homes in town.

Because of an alert inspector, police now have a suspect charged with multiple thefts in Westborough.
During September, Westborough police investigated a number of house and vehicle breaks in town. On Sept. 22, around 11:30 a.m., Derek Saari, who works for the town’s Conservation Commission, was doing an inspection of a property on Arch Street.
Saari noticed a man leaving an empty house carrying copper pipes. Saari said something to him, and the man dropped the pipes and fled. Saari jotted down the license plate number on the Nissan Rogue.

After an investigation, Westborough police detectives found Stephen Davidson, 30, 50 Turnpike Road, Southborough, who was driving the Nissan that day. The investigation, too, connected him to a larceny on Sept. 10, when a cash box at MetroWest Yoga was stolen, the theft of copper down spouts from St. Luke’s Church and on Sept. 16 a house break on Crestview Drive. Davidson is also connected with the larceny of copper down spouts from the Forbes Community Building. The investigation connected him to break-ins in Southborough as well.
Davidson will be arraigned at Westborough District Ccourt at a later date, said police.
