Spring Festival 5K to Honor Marathon Tragedy Victims
A ribbon has been added to this year's race bib.

Runners in Westborough's Spring Festival road race will honor those affected by the Boston Marathon tragedy.
A ribbon has been added to the bib for the race, "to recognize what happened," event Chairman Jessica Thomas said today.
The 11th Annual Westborough Spring Festival 5K Road Race on Sunday, May 5 at Westborough High School. Registration starts at 8 a.m., and the race at 9 a.m.

"It's a road race, and what happened on Monday was a similar event," Thomas said.
"It was a road race, a very historical one, and no one expected what happened to happen.

"We're also trying to get arm bands for all the runners."
The Tri-Valley Frontrunners recommended the ribbon, Thomas said.
"They're a running club. So, for them, it really hit home. And they probably had people from the running club in the marathon," said Thomas. The club will do the timing at the Westborough 5K.
The Westboro Tennis and Swim Club is sponsoring the 5K. The Boroughs JCC is sponsoring the Kids Dash at the event.
The Rotary Club of Westborough has organized the spring festival, which runs May 3 to May 5.
The presenting sponsor is Roche Bros.
The title sponsor is Avidia Bank
The platinum event sponsors are Ball Financial, Elite Dental Care, and St. Mary’s Credit Union.
The major sponsors are Curry Printing, and the Westboro Tennis and Swim Club.
The gold sponsors are Carruth Capital, Central One Federal Credit Union, Marlborough Savings Bank, and the YMCA.
The silver sponsors are Coldwell Banker, and Mugford’s Flower Shoppe.
