Swim Lessons at Westborough Club, Registration Opens Aug. 25

Classes are available for all ages and levels. Sign up!

The following is an announcement from Northborough Recreation, which is letting you know swim lessons are just around the corner.

SWIM REGISTRATION
· Registration opens Monday, Aug. 25, at 9 a.m. for Northborough residents

· Registration opens Tuesday, Aug. 26, at 9 a.m., for nonresidents

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
· We encourage online registration as seats are limited and all registrations are done in real-time. Registrations dropped off in our office or mailed in will be processed with the day’s mail, which comes in the afternoon. Payment MUST accompany all registrations. No registrations can be processed over the phone.

· At this time, we are only taking registration for fall 1 classes, with future registration dates to be announced at a later date

· Correction: the brochure incorrectly advertised a level 4 swim class on Sundays. That class is actually another level 2 class.

Description of Levels
Level #1: Water Exploration. The objective is to make the child feel comfortable in the water and develop good attitudes and safe practices in the water. Children will learn the elementary aquatic skills, putting their face in the water, blowing bubbles, entering and exiting the water safely, etc. Appropriate for children 3-5 years old.

Level #2: Primary Skills. Children will learn to float without support, and recover to a vertical position, hold their breath, kick and begin to move their arms. Appropriate for children ages 5-7 years old.

Level #3: Stroke Readiness. Builds the skills through practice. Children will learn to coordinate the front and back crawl. The elementary backstroke will be introduced, as well as treading water. Appropriate for children 7-10 years old.

Level #4: Stroke Improvement. Develops confidence in the skills learned and improves other aquatic skills. Suggested ages: 9-12 years old. Level 4 classes are only offered on Saturdays for this session.

Ratios: 1:4 for Levels 1-3 classes, 1:5 for Level 4
Location: Westborough Swim & Tennis Club, 35 Chauncy Street, Westborough.
Cancellations: Classes cancelled by the club will be made up, otherwise, no makeup classes are available.

Fall 1: September 6-October 25 (8 weeks)
Fall 2: November 1-December 20 (8 weeks) registration date tba at a later date
Winter: January 3-March 14 (skip February 21, 10 weeks) registration date tba at a later date

Level 2: 12:30—1pm
Level 3: 1—1:30pm
Level 4: 1:30—2pm
Cost: 8 week sessions are $160 per person
10 week sessions are $200 per person

Parent/Tot Swim
The goal of this program is to help develop swimming readiness by leading parents and children in water exploration activities with the objective of having fun and becoming comfortable in, on and around water. Max of 5 pairs per class. Registration begins on August 25 at 9am for residents and August 26 at 9am for non-residents.
Ages: 1-3 years old (1:1 adult participation is required)
Days: Saturdays
Time: 10:30-11am
Dates: Fall 1: September 6—October 25 (8 weeks)
