Temporary Off-Ramp To Open At I-495, Mass Pike Interchange: MassDOT
Drivers will have to be extra careful navigating the temporary ramp, which is set to open Tuesday.

WESTBOROUGH, MA — MassDOT will open a temporary off-ramp from the Mass Pike to I-495 Tuesday morning, meaning a slightly slower transfer between the two freeways.
The ramp will be set up from eastbound I-90 to the northbound and southbound I-495 lanes. The new alignment may cause slowdowns at the interchange.
"The new temporary off-ramp will continue to provide two lanes for exiting traffic and will require motorists using the ramp to reduce their speed to safely navigate the temporary alignment. The mainline of I-90 (and I-495) will continue to provide three lanes per direction (except for limited off-peak lane closures) and all other ramps at the interchange will remain open in their existing configuration and alignment as part of this step of construction," MassDOT said in a bulletin.

The temporary ramp is part of a larger rebuild of the interchange. MassDOT is eliminating the old toll booth area and adding an auxiliary lane from I-495 to Route 9. The state is also building new bridges over the Mass Pike, Flanders Road, Fruit Street and rail lines.
