The Benefits of Yoga for Middle School Kids

Middle School is a time when life gets busier and it may not be all fun and games anymore.  More homework, more activities, and more friends.

When a middle school student practices yoga she has a chance to slow down even if it is just for that one hour. It's a chance to experience a calmness not just in her mind but in her body. One of my students once said, "I've never felt this calm before."

Middle school age is the time of growth.  With yoga she gains strength in the muscles.  It increases her range of motion and reduces the chance of injury, if your kid is doing any other sport. Did you know that having a bigger range of motion her stride might be just a hair longer allowing them to get to the ball or finish line quicker?

In yoga class two friends can be with each other and feel each others presence without ever saying a word.

A yoga class with meditation increases creativity and memory.

In my class the students share how they are doing that day, move to the grooves, do some journaling and meditation.

I'm starting up a new 8 week session:

Tuesday, Feb 4th, 5:30pm
Happy Healthy Kids Fitness Studio
730 Boston Post Road
Sudbury.

If you want to sign your kid up please contact Julia at info@h2kchildrenfitness.com.

Take Care,
Shari
