Tractor Trailer Hits Westborough Rail Bridge: Police

Westborough police used a drone to investigate the weekend incident.

WESTBOROUGH, MA — A tractor trailer hit the rail bridge along East Main Street on Sunday evening, according to police.

The incident happened near where CSX freight rail tracks cross East Main Street near State Street, northeast of the downtown Westborough area.

Westborough Officer Michael Turco used a department drone to inspect damage to the tractor trailer, which police said was disabled by the incident.

Westborough police acquired a drone in 2017 to inspect traffic incidents, photograph crashes and overwatch large crowds. The department is one of the few in the region that use the unmanned devices along with Natick, Oxford and Franklin police.
