Tree sale in full swing

Civic Club

Westborough Civic Club’s annual tree, wreath and roping sale has experienced a great start over the past two weeks. With the first delivery of over seven hundred trees and five hundred wreaths arriving in readiness for the Thanksgiving weekend the Club’s volunteer members have found themselves busy welcoming customers both old and new – and not only from the town itself. Club president Walter Leslie reflected on just how many folks making a purchase arrive from surrounding communities and across the Metrowest area. “It seems that folks have not only heard about the great value we give but also the wide range of trees we have for sale, from table-toppers right up to 13 ft. cathedrals. Recent news items about a possible tree shortage may be true elsewhere but we have a great relationship with our supplier and were pleased to receive a further delivery in the early hours of this last weekend to replenish stocks. We actually sell about 1,500 trees in any year so there’s normally a tree to suit everyone’s taste” said Leslie. Located on Rte. 30 at 111 East Main Street (Hastings School) the lot is open weekdays 3.30-9.00 pm and weekends from 9.00-9.00 through until December 24th. As always, all profits made are donated back to a range of community causes.
