WESTBOROUGH, MA — Westborough police and fire crews handled an overnight gas leak near a popular shopping strip. The leak was reported on Turnpike Road east, near Bernie and Phyl's furniture store. Officers on the scene were able to make use of the police department drone to get an aerial view of the damage and response.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene to mitigate the damage from the gas leak. Drone video taken by the department shows police and fire trucks rushing down the empty roads and into the vacant parking lot where the leak happened.
Gas can be seen in the video spewing from the ground, other than a neighboring parking lot with a few cars, the only other vehicles in the area were emergency vehicles.
