Walmart Oops: Retailer Confuses Massachusetts, Maryland
Does the two states really look that much alike?
MASSACHUSETTS — When people starting taking to Twitter questioning a new shirt being sold at Walmart locations in Maryland, you have to wonder how the mishap could have happened in the first place.
Somehow, a collection of college T-shirts supplied by Russell Athletic included a University of Maryland Terripins ("Terps") V-neck with the outline of the state of Massachusetts.
As a Massachusetts resident and a Terps fan I wouldn't mind one of these! https://t.co/OnKJ9s3gy3

Walmart indicated on social media that the states are similar "except for that dip." On Monday, Walmart announced it was removing the shirts from its shelves.
Walmart told Patch on Tuesday, "We are working to find out how this happened and removed the shirt from stores. We apologize to the Terps for the mistake."

@Samficco We’re so embarrassed we may never stick our head out of our shell again! Thanks for guiding this lost Terrapin back to MD! -Sonny
Dear Wal-Mart, please leave the Maryland themed clothing to us, thanks. @Walmart @Samficco pic.twitter.com/kyqremB1jj
