WATCH: Republican Candidate Shiva Ayyadurai For Senate On Westborough
"We don't need these political hacks who basically serve themselves so they can be in between us and our creator and us and innovation."
WESTBOROUGH, MA—The Indian-born American Shiva Ayyadurai is a scientist, entrepreneur and holds four degrees from MIT, including a Ph.D. in biological engineering, and is a Fulbright grant recipient. Ayyadurai is also a Republican candidate for Massachusettssenate in 2018, battling for Elizabeth Warren's seat.
Back in June, Ayyadurai came to Westborough to join in one of the celebrations for the 300th anniversary, and Patch just stumbled upon a pitch he gave to the camera while driving on in.
"We are on way to Westborough, Massachusetts, home of the cotton gin," he says in the video with Queen's "We Will Rock You" playing in the background. "Eli Whitney invented it, which sparked the Industrial Revolution. It transformed industry because you could remove that little seed without all the need for this human labor, and that labor was free to go to other jobs. Similarly, I believe that the digital revolution and the computer is going to unleash more aspects of e-government, which will be the death nail to politicians. We don't need these political hacks who basically serve to serve themselves so they can be in between us and our creator and us and innovation."
