WATCH: Westborough Police Demonstrate Weapons Qualification

Westborough officers must complete a nighttime qualification and a daytime qualification.

WESTBOROUGH, MA – Ever wonder what the training process for police officers is like? Westborough Police Department decided to give residents an inside look at the process officers go through to be qualified to handle rifles and handguns.

The department posted a video on Facebook detailing the steps it takes for officers to get qualified. Westborough officers must pass both daytime and nighttime qualifications. Three members of the department head the qualification process.

Sgt. Rossi, Sgt. Luce and Officer McRae are certified Firearms Instructors and trained as Armorers. Armorers ensure the life of our rifles and handguns are inspected and are in working order.
