Westboro FIRST LEGO League team wins award at State Championship
Westborough Warriors robotics team wins awards at qualifying and state competitions.

On Saturday December 16th, five members of the Westborough Warriors competed in the Western MA FIRST Lego League (FLL) State Championship along with 71 of the best team from around the state. In this event, held at WPI, the Westborough Warriors’ extensive research of rainwater filtering was awarded the first place Research Award.
A week earlier at Algonquin Regional High School, the team competed in a qualifying competition and received the Robot Performance Award as well as the Programming Award for their use of sensors and advanced programming.
Teams of students ages 9-14 had been preparing for these events since September, building and programming robots, designing attachments to complete complex missions in a timed competition, and developing and presenting research projects to solve problems related to this year’s theme - Hydro Dynamics. Judging is based on robot performance, project research and adherence to the FIRST core values relating to teamwork and friendly competition.
