Westborough Chief: Smooth Transition To Police Department's New Home

Westborough's police department moved in mid-March. Chief Alan Gordon said the transition has gone smoothly.

WESTBOROUGH, MA — While it's tough to be away from the center of town, Westborough's police are now stationed in a more modern, updated facility.

The Westborough Police Department moved on March 23 from 42 West Main St. to 2400 Computer Drive, Suite 1100.

"Everything went relatively smoothly," said Police Chief Alan Gordon. "The town had plenty of practice moving all of the other departments prior to us. It took all of Friday to physically get everything in and then we finally got everything up and running Thursday. The facility is very modern and professional. The only downside is being away from the center of town, which is a slight imposition for residents who need to come to the station. Fortunately, the public safety dispatch center is working effectively which has helped us out immensely. "
