Westborough Church Holds Vigil for Orlando Victims

A church in Westborough is hosting a vigil for Orlando victims and other senseless acts of violence.

WESTBOROUGH, MA—The sanctuary at the Unitarian Universalist Congregational Society of Westborough is opening Monday at 6:30 p.m. for anyone who would like to gather in vigil for the victims in the Orlando shooting.

There is no planned program, said organizers, who offer the church and time as a safe place to gather for prayer, silence or song.

"Whatever you need as we absorb and process one more tragic loss of many lives due to prejudice and hatred," reads the Facebook post. "Come for a minute and light a candle, come for a few minutes and say a prayer silently or out loud, come for a longer while and be in the company of others who grieve and mourn yet another senseless act of gun violence. Come in love to fight against hate."
