Westborough Fire Officials Perform Swamp Rescue

WESTBOROUGH, MA — The Westborough Fire Department performed a rescue in Cedar Swamp on Brigham Street after a man fell through the ice and got stuck in the muck on Thursday.

The man was in his 70's and got stuck in the muck. The rescue took about two hours — a three-member team had to use saw and rescue equipment to pull him out. Fire officials said he was taken to the hospital to be treated for possible hypothermia but is doing well.
