Westborough First Responders Rescue Passengers On Capsized Boat

WESTBOROUGH, MA — A fun day on the water in Westborough's Lake Chauncey took a dangerous turn on Saturday when the boat capsized. Luckily for the occupants, Westborough first responders were quick moving on the scene.

Westborough police and the Westborough fire department teamed up for the rescue. The fire department's dive team was able to safely get all of the boat occupants back to shore. Police wrote in a Facebook post that the people on the boat were not in distress.

In total there were four people on the boat who ended up in the water, but not for too long, thanks to the fire department's dive team. The team used a fire boat to get to the victims and said a nearby fishing boat helped in the rescue.

After the passengers were out, crews worked to get the capsized boat out of the water.
