Westborough Plans Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Event In August

WESTBOROUGH, MA — Westborough will hold a free hazardous waste drop-off event in early August, giving residents the opportunity to get rid of everything from fuel to unwanted propane tanks.

The Aug. 6 event will run from 7:30 a.m. to noon at the public works facility at 181 Oak St. Anyone who attends will need to bring proof of residency.

There's a long list of items that will be accepted, everything from mothballs to furniture stripper. See the full list of items here.

Here's a list of items that will NOT be accepted at the event:

• Latex paint
• Appliances
• Biological waste
• Explosives, including fireworks
• Radioactive materials
• Smoke detectors
• Empty aerosol cans
• Prescription medications
• PCBs
• Regular household garbage
• Ammunition
• Septic tank waste
• Tires
• Sand
• Construction debris
