Westborough High School to host robotics competition
Bay State Brawl FIRST off-season competition

Westborough High School will host its first annual Bay State Brawl FIRST off-season robotics competition on Saturday October 29. Teams from around New England will meet to compete in the 2016 "Stronghold" competition.
FIRST is a non-profit organization that challenges students to take what they learn in their math and science classes and apply them to difficult, fun, and exciting challenges. The challenge for the 2015-2016 season, “Stronghold”, challenged teams to create a robot that could cross various medieval defenses and shoot “boulders” into towers to earn points. More information about the game and the organization can be found on the FIRST Robotics website: http://www.firstinspires.org/
Bay State Brawl offers new robotics students a chance to compete in a fun yet competitive environment. The event also offers local residents and students the opportunity to see a high caliber robotics competition in person. In keeping with the season, Bay State Brawl will be Halloween-themed and will have something for visitors of all ages. Kids are encouraged to dress up in costumes and trick-or-treat at the event, or participate in the many fun activities planned, such as a challenge to build the best Lego car, the opportunity to program their own Lego robots, and an exciting scavenger hunt (that adults can participate in too)!
