Peace Poster Prize Awarded to Middle Schooler by Lions Club

Shivani Allada, a student at Gibbons Middle School in Westborough, was awarded 1st prize in the Westborough Lions Club: Share Peace poster contest, at their meeting on November 18th! She is seen in the photo with her entry, together with Judy Hyotte, Peace Poster Chairperson, and Ron Pallisco, Westborough Lions Club President. The two runners-up were Kristine Lee, and Mindy Zheng.

Each poster was judged on originality, artistic merit, and expression of the theme: Share Peace. The contest was open to Westborough students ages 11-13. This is a multilevel, Lions Club International competition starting with the local community, and advancing to district and international levels. Entries were solicited from local schools, as well as local Boy and Girl Scout troops. The Westborough Library displayed the posters for several weeks for the public to enjoy.
