Westborough Lions Host 2nd Annual Rubber Duck Derby

Funds Raised Support a $1,000 Post-Secondary Education Scholarship for a Westborough Student

On Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the Mill Pond Spillway, the Westborough Lions Club will host its 2nd annual Rubber Duck Derby. Funds raised at the event will support a $1,000, Post- Secondary education scholarship for a high school student living in Westborough. Seniors from Westborough High School, Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School, and from private high schools are eligible to apply. Funds will also support eye research, diabetes camps for kids, and much more!

The race will be held rain or shine. Remember, ducks love the rain! Folks can view the race at the Mill Pond Spillway or on Facebook Live. The race will also be rebroadcast by Westborough TV on YouTube at a later date. The prize structure is as follows:

  • 1st Place Duck: $500
  • 2nd Place Duck: $250
  • 3rd Place Duck: $100

Prices to adopt ducks for the race are shown below. New this year is the addition of Specialty Duck adoptions. Ducks representing your occupation or special interest such as a nurse duck, teacher duck, basketball duck, etc. are available. Specialty ducks also have the added feature of being recognizable as they race down the Spill Way!
