Westborough Lions Host 4th Annual KenDUCKy Derby on May 4th
New Fancy Hat Contest Added to Event for Children 12 and Under

The Westborough Lions Club is hosting its 4th Annual KenDUCKy Derby, aka Rubber Duck Derby, on Saturday, May 4th, at 11 a.m. at the Mill Pond Spillway in Westborough. Funds raised from the event will be used to give a $1,000 scholarship to a Westborough High School senior, award a campership for a child with Type 1 Diabetes to the Barton Center for Diabetes Education in N. Oxford, MA, and will support our other charitable endeavors.
Ducks can be adopted at 1 Duck for $10, 3 Ducks for $25, and more increments of 3. Specialty ducks can be adopted representing your occupation or hobby for $30. Specialty Ducks will be identifiable as they 'Race for the Roses' down the Spillway to the Finish Line. 1st Place Duck wins $500, the 2nd Place Duck $250, and the 3rd Place Duck $100. The public is invited to attend the race, can watch live on Facebook, or can watch a rebroadcast on Westborough TV. It's a fun, family event for the community!
This year, the Lions are adding a KenDUCKy Derby Hat Contest for children ages 12 and under, to mimic the Churchill Downs Gala later in the day. Children are encouraged to make their own fashion statement with their hats for the event! Prizes for the most fashionable hat and the most creative hat will be awarded. Children wishing to participate should come to the race by 10:30 a.m. where they will process to the Spillway with the ducks.
