Westborough Lions Sponsor Peace Poster Contest
Westborough Students Ages 11 through 13 are Welcome to Participate
As part of the Positive Youth Development Initiative of Lions Clubs International, the Westborough Lions Club is sponsoring a Peace Poster Contest for Westborough students ages 11 through 13, as of November 15, 2019. Private and home-schooled students are welcome to enter. The theme of this year's contest is Journey of Peace. Each poster will be judged on Originality, Artistic Merit, and Expression of the Theme. The winner of the local contest will receive a monetary award and their entry will move on to the District 33A contest in December. Last year, Gibbons Middle School student Sophia Winsch won the local, District 33A, and the Massachusetts MD 33 State prizes! The winner of the State prize moves on to the International Competition, where the winner receives $5,000 and a trip to special awards ceremony at the United Nations. There are also 23 Merit Award winners at the International level.
The deadline to enter the contest is Friday, October 11th, with posters due by Friday, November 1st. More information, including the rules of the contest, is available on the Peace Poster page of the Westborough Lions Club website: westboroughlionsclub.org.
