WESTBOROUGH, MA — A Westborough elementary school custodian was arrested this week after an investigation into allegations that he was in possession of child pornography, according to police.

Westborough police said Andrew Size, 52, was arrested at his home Monday after police served a search warrant. Size was set to be arraigned Tuesday at Westborough District Court on a charge of possession of child pornography, police said. He was held in jail after his arrest.

The investigation into Size came after someone left a tip with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which regularly forwards information about internet crimes to the state police cyber crime task force.

Westborough Public Schools alerted parents about the arrest in an email Tuesday morning. Superintendent Amber Bock told parents Size was a nighttime custodian at Fales Elementary, but that the police investigation did not find any illicit material on school property.

"We are shocked and saddened that a member of our school community is allegedly involved with such an awful and damaging situation," Bock said in the email. "I would like to thank our colleagues at the Westborough Police Department as well as the State Police forensic unit and K9-Niko and his handlers from the New Hampshire Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) for their assistance and collaboration."
