Westborough Names June Town Employee Of The Month

WESTBOROUGH, MA — Westborough has a new star in local offices and is recognizing him for his work. The Employee Excellence Award committee named Dan Barbour employee of the month. Barbour works at the library and received an enthusiastic nomination signed by eight of his co-workers.

As Circulation Supervisor, Dan has introduced positive changes and innovations, making the library "A more friendly and attractive place to the public,” according to his coworkers. He has expanded outreach in his area to bring the library to those who cannot easily make it in. His library enhancements have ranged from fresh paint colors, engaging displays (i.e. Breakout Books) to the Room of Things which holds miscellaneous items from baking pans to a pressure washer.

Dan is considered by co-workers to be an excellent supervisor, “Motivational, enthusiastic and inspiring. Staff morale has never been better. He has created a friendly and cheerful atmosphere for both the patrons and staff alike.” Working creatively within the library’s limitations, he manages to improve workflow and make the library more accessible to all. His co-workers state “It is a pleasure to work with Dan.”
