WESTBOROUGH, MA — The Westborough Police Department is hiring.
Westborough is accepting applications for entry-level police officers, with a starting salary range of $88,000 to $100,240 based on experience and education, according to a department recruitment post.
The posting says eligible officers would receive full Quinn Bill benefits, while lateral officers would start with pay and benefits based on experience. The department is advertising the openings through PoliceApp.

Applicants must have a high school diploma, though a college degree is preferred, according to the posting. Massachusetts Police Academy certification is also preferred, and candidates must meet the Massachusetts POST Commission requirements. The department said applicants must also pass physical, psychological and background checks.
Officers are responsible for enforcing laws to protect life and property, directing and controlling traffic, preventing crime and disturbances of the peace, and making arrests when needed. The role includes patrol work, responding to calls for service, investigating suspicious activity and violations, interviewing victims and witnesses, gathering evidence and assisting at accident scenes.

The job posting also says officers write incident and investigation reports, issue citations, enforce traffic and parking laws, testify in court and coordinate with other officers and supervisors. Other duties include attending community meetings, serving warrants and summonses, maintaining weapons and equipment and, when needed, performing dispatcher duties.
