Westborough Police See Slight Rise In Calls, Traffic Stops In April
Westborough police handled more calls and made more traffic stops in April 2026 compared to March, while arrests also increased slightly.

WESTBOROUGH, MA — Westborough police activity ticked up in several categories in April compared to both the previous month and the same time last year, according to newly released department data.
Police reported a total of 2,270 calls in April 2026, a slight increase from 2,235 calls in March 2025 and up from 2,121 calls in April 2025.
Arrests also rose month-over-month and year-over-year. Officers made 22 arrests in April 2026, compared to 17 in March 2025. However, that figure remains slightly below April 2025, when 26 arrests were recorded.

Criminal summons followed a similar trend. Police issued 26 summons in April 2026, up from 23 in March 2025 but down from 34 in April 2025.
Incident reports declined compared to both comparison periods. Officers filed 163 reports in April 2026, down from 189 in March 2025 and significantly lower than the 202 reports logged in April 2025.

Traffic activity showed a notable increase. Officers conducted 581 traffic stops in April 2026, a sharp rise from 429 in March 2025. Traffic accidents also increased to 52, up from 42 in March 2025 but slightly below the 58 crashes reported in April 2025.
Police also reported 15 assists to the juvenile diversion program (JDP) in April 2026, a category not included in the earlier data.
Overall, the latest figures suggest a busier month for Westborough police, driven largely by increased traffic enforcement and a modest uptick in calls for service, even as incident reports declined compared to last year.
