Westborough Public Schools Among Best In MA, New Ranking Says

WESTBOROUGH, MA — Westborough Public Schools ranked among the best school districts in the Bay State, according to a new list.

Westborough Public Schools was named the No. 8 best school district in Massachusetts on the 2027 Best School Districts in America list, recently released by the education ranking service Niche.

Niche gave WPS an A+ grade overall, including an A+ in academics, teachers and college prep. It earned an A in administration and clubs and activities, as well as a B+ in diversity.

This comes as Westborough High School was ranked No. 11 in the state in Niche’s 2027 Best Schools and Districts in America rankings. Located at 90 W. Main St., the school offers a broad curriculum, including Advanced Placement courses, senior English seminars, and independent study opportunities.

The top-ranked school district in the state was Dover-Sherborn. You can find a complete list of the top 25 here.

How Niche Ranks School Districts

Niche's rankings combine federal and state data, school statistics, and over 3 million reviews from students, parents, and teachers to evaluate schools beyond test scores.

This year, Niche updated its methodology and created separate public and private rankings for categories including arts, diversity, college prep and teachers. It also introduced school-type-specific methodologies for boarding schools and private online high schools.

"Families deserve a complete view of their options, whether they’re evaluating schools in their area or exploring what's available elsewhere," Niche founder and CEO Luke Skurman said in a news release.
