Westborough Puts Marriage Intention Forms On Hold Till The Fall
The town clerk's office can't handle the intentions right now between coronavirus restrictions and the upcoming election.
WESTBOROUGH, MA — Westborough love birds will have to wait a few extra weeks before making their union official in town.
The town clerk's office is temporarily suspending marriage intention fillings from Aug. 17 to Sept. 7 and again from Oct. 9 through Nov. 6. A marriage intention form is required to receive a marriage license in Massachusetts. The forms have to be filled out and submitted in person.
The town said the clerk's office is already working under restrictions due to the pandemic, but the upcoming election will likely stretch the office thin. After the election, the office should be operating as usual, filing intention forms.
