Elsie Kaye Gift Shop &amp; Artisan Studio In 2009, on a whim, Holly Kenny took a flameworking class and learned to make glass beads. This sparked a love of glass art and led to the launch her business, Elsie Kaye Gift Shop and Art Studio in downtown Westborough. Holly currently teaches flameworking and metalworking at her studio and is on the faculty at the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA. Holly loves the fluidity and movement of glass and enjoys incorporating metals, enamels and other elements that can change the texture and appearance of the glass. As a result, much of her work takes on an abstract, organic feel. Her work, under the name Elsie Kaye Glassworks, can be found at more than 50 boutiques and galleries across the country. Holly is passionate about promoting emerging local artists by selling their work at her retail shop, as well as helping to foster connections with new and existing businesses in the local area. She is an active member of her community, where she has lived with her husband and two children since 2006.

The nonprofit <a href="https://www.capeannvernalpondteam.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">Cape Ann Vernal Pond Team</a> will be in town to host a presentation about snakes commonly found in New England, plus species from farther away. The presentation will be led by Rick Roth, Cape Ann Vernal Pond Team's founder and executive director. "Meet some fascinating harmless reptiles you may find while out walking in Westborough as well as some impressive specimens from around the world," the event flier says. There will be two snake shows, both on Saturday, at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 17 Willow St. The Westborough Community Land Trust is sponsoring the snake show with help from the Westborough Newcomers Club and Westborough Cultural Council.
