
WESTBOROUGH, MA—Voters turned out for the Massachusetts state primary election on Thursday, Sept. 8, electing state representatives, state senators, councillors, sheriffs and other state positions. There were two contested races on the democratic ballot.
The polls were open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sept. 8.

Representative in Congress, 2nd District: James P. McGovern, 322 votes

Councillor, 3rd District: Marilyn M. Petitto Devaney, 183 votes; Peter Georgiou, 68 votes; William Bishop Humphrey, 57 votes
State Senator: James B. Eldridge, 311 votes
State Representative, 4th Middlesex District: Danielle W. Gregoire, 151 votes; Michael H. Ossing, 22 votes
State Representative, 8th Middlesex District: Carolyn C. Dykema, 40 votes
Republican Ballot:
State Representative, 11th Middlesex District: Hannah E. Kane, 50 votes
Sheriff, Worcester County: Lewis Evangelidis, 102 votes
