Although the Boston Marathon doesn’t run through Westborough, Ed Turner wants to put the town on the event’s map.
Starting with a Boston Marathon-themed framed poster and bronze sculpture exhibit opening Sunday.
The display of about 12 of former Marathon director, and Hopkinton resident, Tim Kilduff’s “past many years of Marathon posters,” and Marathon-themed sculptures by Michael Alfano, runs at the Tatnuck Bookseller throughout April, says Turner, who owns the Art and Frame Emporium. Both shops are in the Westborough Shopping Center, at the intersection of Lyman Street and Route 9.

The opening reception for "Art of the Marathon" is from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at Tatnuck.
Turner says he sees Westborough as “a venue that really hasn’t been tapped into, and that’s attracting people here from the Marathon.”

“I want (visitors) to see, visually, the artwork that’s been done over the years for the Marathon,” Turner says.
“My whole goal is art and the Marathon.”
