Woman Faces OUI Charges Stemming From Crash With Cruiser
An Ashland woman was transported to the hospital, and charged with OUI, after a crash in Westborough

An Ashland woman is now facing OUI charges stemming from a crash that happened in Westborough on Sept. 15.
Westborough police responded around 9:14 p.m. to a serious vehicle crash on Route 9 east at Longmeadow Road.
A 2014 Toyota Avalon had heavy front end damage, with the female operator still inside with serious injuries. Theresa M. Meltzer, 61, 46 Wilbur Drive, Ashland, was treated by paramedics at the scene and transported to UMass Medical Center.

The other vehicle involved was a 2015 Ford SUV police cruiser owned by the Southborough Police Department. The operator of the vehicle was Officer John Woodford, 32. He was shaken up but did not require treatment, said police.
The accident was investigated by members of the Mass State Police. A reconstruction of the accident was performed by Westborough Officer Clifford Luce who represents the Central Mass Law Enforcement Council’s accident reconstruction unit.

Meltzer had been traveling east on Route 9 and struck the rear of the cruiser, which was stopped with its emergency lights flashing, said police.
Officer Luce was informed recently that the blood alcohol level on Theresa Meltzer was found to be .17 which is over twice the legal limit. She has been charged with DUI alcohol and operating a motor vehicle negligently.
She will be summoned to the WDC at a later date.
