Write On: Westborough Participates in the First Indie Author Day

WESTBOROUGH, MA—The Westborough Public Library is calling all writers, or anyone who ever wanted to be one. The library is participating in the nation-wide Indie Author Day, participating with libraries across North America on Saturday, Oct. 8.
Two events are planned for the day:
At 11 a.m. Heather Kelly presents "Finding Community as a Self-Publisher." Kelly is an author, founder of the Writers’ Loft in Sherborn and Director of the SCBWI 2016 New England Regional Conference, talks about what kind of support self-publishers need and where to find it. She will also talk about the Writers’ Loft and what they offer.

At 2 p.m. a live streaming, Indie Author Day panel discussion featuring industry leaders from the literary technology world, a librarian, a leader in review publications, publishing experts and writers will all come together to offer inspiration and advice to the indie community.
Jon Fine, former director of author and publisher relations for Amazon, will be the moderator and the panelists include Robin Cutler, Director of IngramSpark, Kiera Parrott, Reviews Director for School Library Journal and Library Journal, Jim Blanton, Director of the Louisville Free Public Library, and author L. Penelope.
