WWII Vet Among Those Lost This Week

Lois A. (Zona) Martin, 65, a resident of Kingston for 39 years and more recently of Stow, died Jan. 28. She is survived by her husband, Clifford Martin; two sons, Keith Martin and his wife, Lisa, of Westborough, David P. Martin and his wife, Alison, of Hudson; three grandchildren, mother, sister and her husband, brother and his wife and aunt. Relatives and friends are invited to honor Lois between 2 and 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11 at the 62 West Main St. Donations may be made in memory of Lois Martin to Massachusetts General Hospital, 165 Cambridge St., Suite 600, Boston, MA 02114. Note Lois’ name and either Brain Cancer Research Fund or Parkinson’s Disease Research Fund.

Bernard R. Kane, 99, of Westborough, passed away Feb. 1. During WWII, he served with the US Army. He was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, American Theater Campaign Ribbon and the Army of Occupation Medal of Germany Victory Medal. He was a communicant of a life member of the and a lifelong resident of Westborough. Bernie is survived by one son, two daughters, six grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was buried on Feb. 4 with military honors in Donations in his memory may be made to the K of C General Scholarship Fund, 17 Willow St.

Emily M. Collins, 93, of Westborough, passed away Feb. 3. She graduated from where she was the captain of the girls’ basketball team. She worked at Bay State Abrasives for over 50 years. Emily was the mother of Ronda Lanzetta and her husband, Al; grandmother of Jason Lanzetta and his wife, Carolyn; David Lanzetta and his fiancé, Elissa Zizmor; and Jeffrey Lanzetta, who died in 1990. She was a great-grandmother of three. Private family services will be held at a later date. Donations in her memory may be sent to , 3 Lyman St. or to the Friends of the 4 Rogers Rd.
