Airmen, guardians must update their religious affiliation under narrowed list (stripes.com) — Service members at Barnes Air National Guard Base in Westfield must update their official religious affiliation this fall as the Pentagon shrinks about 180 faith codes down to 31 broader categories. Airmen and guardians have until mid-October or early November, depending on their status, before the system automatically converts their current listing. Leaders say the change should help chaplains better allocate support while preserving religious freedom.
