2-Hour Delay for Westford Schools

Westford schools will have a two-hour delay Thursday due to extreme cold.

Kindergarten and morning preschool are canceled.

Wind chill values are expected to drop to -24 degrees Thursday morning.

Below is a statement from Superintendent Bill Olsen:

“Based on the latest weather forecast, tomorrow’s wind chill is predicted to be 15 to 30 below zero between 6:00 and 9:00 AM and improve to 0 to 15 below after 9:00 AM.

For the safety of students waiting at bus stops and students walking to school, I have decided to have a 2-hour delay tomorrow, Thursday, January 8th. A 2-hour delay dictates that morning preschool and kindergarten sessions will not be held.

It is always my intention to ensure the safety of students and staff.”
