• Man, 21, dies after falling into Mass. quarry (boston.com) — A 21-year-old man died after falling into Merrill's Quarry in Westford early Saturday, despite rescue and lifesaving efforts by local police and firefighters. Westford police are warning residents that the privately owned quarry off Tyngsboro Road is extremely dangerous, stressing that trespassing there is illegal and can have tragic consequences as the investigation continues.
   

• Beacon Hill Roll Call: House expands 'move over' law (lowellsun.com) — State Rep. Jim Arciero of Westford backed a unanimously approved House bill to expand Massachusetts' "move over" law so drivers must also protect roadside utility workers, with higher penalties and added driver education. The broader Beacon Hill roundup also covers new laws on library book challenges, late-term abortion rules, firefighter safety, and several other statewide measures that could indirectly affect Westford residents.
