Come on over to the town green to celebrate the end of the Chelmsford Community Band's summer season on the Chelmsford Common Tuesday night at 7pm. Pull up a blanket or a folding chair on the grass and enjoy the band's 42nd year of free summer music for the community with a program hand-picked by the band members. Let us show you just how much we enjoy our favorite music and we guarantee that you will enjoy it, too.
The band is a 60-piece ensemble of volunteers from Chelmsford, Westford, Lowell, Littleton, and many other communities. Founded in 1972, it has been honored by invitations to perform in the Boston Festival of Bands in Faneuil Hall and the New Hampshire Band Festival, and recently sent a small ensemble to perform the National Anthem at the start of the June 24th Lowell Spinners game.
