Despite rescheduling from rain on Saturday and on Friday, the Westford started off fresh, getting out to a 5-3 lead by the end of the first quarter thanks to a pair of goals by Jay Dreapeau.

The Eagles brought the deficit down to one by halftime, and from there it was a see-saw battle until BC's Joe Buckley put things away with 2:53 left in the contest.

While Westford remained competitive with the Eagles in the second half, the visitors had certainly compensated for any potential early jitters.

"We just settled down, I don't think we were ready coming out for their speed and their shooting," said BC High head coach Ted Bibeau. "We really settled down and played team defense, not sliding from certain kids and helping with other kids."

On the other sideline, there was certain disappointment over what could have easily been a win.

"I don't think we ran out of gas at any point, lacrosse is a game of runs, and you have to weather the storms," said Westford Academy head coach Matt Tholander. "The biggest problem in this game wasn't our defense, it was the fact that our offense got away from what we normally do in terms of being a possession oriented team."

Drapeau and Ben Katz both had hat tricks for the Ghosts while Buckley, Brendan Hogan and Corey Davidson posted three goal games for the Eagles.
