High Tech Applications To Plan Your Garden

The high tech way to plan your garden

Howdy, its been about a month since I started this blog and my noob experiences with a vegetable garden - By now I have the plot locked in and will start excavating it very soon. I decided on a size of 16x24, don't laugh, I plan on expanding. But for now, that will suit me fine.

I have this dream of making my own salsa's, bruschetta, a variety of tomato sauce and my own special homemade chili. Perhaps to sell one day but thats a ways away.

I am a techie nerd geek egghead, whatever you are calling us these days and I found an iPhone app and its companion website with a really cool Flash driven Garden Planner. You have to subscribe and it is $25.00 a year but you get the first 30 days for free and you can plan your garden.

The app is loaded with all kinds of information such as:

  • Starting the seeds before the last frost
  • When to plant in ground
  • How far to space each plant so you get the best root system for each one and not intefere with surrounding plants.
  • Best time to harvest

and a tons more...( I don't work for the website, I just thought it was really cool for beginners like me and wanted to share)
