New Equipment, New Programs To Be Highlighted at Annual Membership Meeting

Attend Annual Membership Meeting on Thursday, June 27. New programs also highlighted.

By Lauren Horton, General Manager, Westford CAT

On Thursday, June 27, Westford CAT members will attend our annual meeting at the station and hear about all the new local programs and equipment added in the past year. They will also be invited into the studio to sit in our virtual sets, like the one we use to record “Weathering the Weather with Ed,” a program hosted by local meteorologist Ed Cohen. Also on display will be our new JVC high definition field cameras, and the new online training courses we now have available for the community to learn video editing. Volunteer of the Year and Student Volunteer of the Year awards will be given along with special recognition for the two regional programming awards the station received in 2012 from the Alliance for Community Media. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m., followed by refreshments and demonstrations for all who are interested.

May and June are always busy months for Westford, as the end of the school year approaches, the Apple Blossom Festival and Memorial Day ceremonies occur and Westford Academy holds its high school graduation. Westford CAT staff and volunteers were on hand for all of these events and the finished programs are now available on our local channels. On line viewers should note we have YouTube and website links for:

We also have some students working on the 2013 Inventors and Scientists Fair program and we expect it will be available to schedule sometime next week.

With summer around the corner and students home for the summer, we hope more people will decide to get involved with the station. The more people we have who are willing to check out our cameras and record all the wonderful moments and events around town, the more programs we can create that will preserve these moments for years to come.
