New Faces and Upcoming Program Changes at Westford CAT
Meet Steve Edwards, Westford CAT's latest video technician.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be updating readers on the new people at Westford CAT, leading up to our annual membership gathering on Thursday, June 21. If you’ve been thinking of joining Westford CAT, now’s the time. Follow this blog and find out all the resources your local television station makes available to the community.
If you’ve attended a recent School Committee or Planning Board Meeting, you may have seen someone new setting up the cameras or recording the meeting. Stephen Edwards started working at Westford CAT earlier this year, helping us cover the extra meetings during town budget season. Edwards, a recent graduate from Hofstra University, earned his degree in Television and Video Production. He also grew up in Westford and is no stranger to Westford CAT. While he attended Westford Academy, Edwards was involved in Mr. Miller’s broadcast club and became known as the “Weather Guy” during their morning announcements. Edwards also achieved the rank of Eagle Scout with Troop 437 and currently participates in the Acton Minutemen.

When he isn’t recording government meetings, Edwards has kept busy finishing up programs for broadcast and upgrading the look of many Community Bulletin Board announcements that run between programs on our channels. He’s also been applying his video animation skills to an upcoming programming change announcement for Westford CAT’s Comcast customers. The announcement will start running on our local channels next week as we alert viewers on Comcast’s plans to carry the WWDP station on Channel 10 beginning June 5th. WWDP carries the ShopNBC network.
So, where will Comcast viewers be able to watch our local government meetings after June 5th? Find out next week when we launch our announcement on our local channels, on Facebook, on Twitter, and on our website.

Next week I’ll introduce our two high school interns from Westford Academy and highlight all the great work they’ve been doing for the station. Stay tuned!
