We live near some conservation land. Have seen raccoons, skunks, hawks, an owl, deer, herons, all sorts of birds, beavers, even a fisher cat a few winters ago...but this takes the cake..well bird feeders in this case.
I woke up at 645AM to find my 2 bird feeders broken and on the ground. One feeder hangs 12 feet up in air on a 1' iron arm...it was smashed and on the ground in pieces...hmm a bear pinata I thought? No way!? Must be the squirrels again.
The other feeder in the back yard hangs from a 7 Ft cast iron pole. The pole was bent down to the ground at 120 degree angle...think when you toss out an old wire hanger, u bend it with 2 hands easily and recycle it...that is what the pole looked like. Hmmm I thought...I couldn't even do that, I am 6'2 and in pretty good shape...wait...what are those imprints in the snow? Lets take a closer look...ummmmm...wtheck! There was a bear in my backyard!? I mean I think there was...had to have been right?

I pick up one of the feeders and bring in inside to potentially fix. It still has a few cups of bird seed in it. Then off to work for the day. Around 430PM today, I see an ALL CAPS text message flash across my phone from mama bear (my wife) 'NO MORE BLEEPING BIRD SEED!!!!'. Uh oh, I forgot to tell her about the feeder on the porch...she knocked it over and seed is everyehere. Last thing she needs after just having knee surgery. I wrap up at work, then double check my texts. What are these pictures? Take a look folks, taken at about 5pm March 12, 2013 by my neighbors...minutes before she arrived home with our 2year old. Enjoy? Well, just beware.
